ASPAMET Vertical Mixers

For tall tanks and demanding media where submersible mixers cannot be used.

Vertical mixers are used in the chemical industry, food industry, wastewater treatment plants, agriculture, biogas plants and water treatment plants. They are applied wherever submersible mixers cannot be used due to tank geometry, liquid aggressiveness or other requirements.

They are used in biological processes at wastewater treatment plants, in the preparation of solutions and suspensions, to intensify heat exchange, in crystallisation processes and in fermentation processes for biogas production.

    What are vertical mixers?

Vertical mixers owe their name to the vertical position of the shaft on which the impeller is mounted. This arrangement means that only part of the shaft and the impeller remain permanently immersed in the medium. This design allows the shaft and impeller to be made of materials resistant to the mixed medium.

The drive unit is located above the level of the substance, which contributes to a longer service life of the equipment and provides easy access to the drive. These mixers are usually mounted to platforms, tank roofs or dedicated support platforms.

    Design and construction features

    Vertical mixer drive

ASPAMET vertical mixers can be driven directly by electric motors or through a gearbox. This makes it possible to use a wide range of drive powers as well as different impeller rotational speeds. Optionally, the mixer drive can be equipped with a frequency inverter, enabling smooth adjustment of the impeller speed.

    Shaft and bearings

Mixer shafts are made of materials resistant to corrosive environments and are supported by bearings filled with lubricant for their entire service life.

    ASPAMET mixer impellers

The impellers are made of materials resistant to corrosive environments. Different impeller shapes and configurations allow the mixer to be adapted to process requirements. They are designed based on hydrodynamic flow analysis.

    Selection of vertical mixers

ASPAMET vertical mixer selection is based on parameters such as:

    tank geometry and dimensions,
    process requirements and function,
    operating and installation conditions.
